ARSON Squad detectives are investigating the cause of a house fire in Orelia around midday yesterday.

Police and Department of Fire and Emergency Services were called to the fire at the home on Nathaniel Way.

The fire extensively damaged the home with the damage bill estimated at $250 000.

Arson Squad detectives are asking any motorists who were driving along Christmas Avenue and Nathaniel Way between 12pm and 12.30pm yesterday, who have dash-cam vision to come forward.

Anyone with any information relating to this fire is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at Crime Stoppers.

Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of an arsonist.

Meanwhile, a woman is in a critical condition in hospital after a man allegedly threw burning material over her at a Midvale home.

Police say that he allegedly set fire to a woman, then her Hooley Road home at about 8.50pm on Sunday night.

She suffered serious burns, mainly to her head, neck and throat and is in a critical but stable condition at Fiona Stanley Hospital.
