Police said staff handed over cash, but he was located by police a short time after leaving.
Magistrate Susan Richardson asked Mr Browne if he had anything to say regarding bail.
“I apologise for making such a stupid error in judgement… when you are totally numb,” he said.
Magistrate Richardson said there would be no bail application taken and when Mr Browne asked why he was told he was “not in a fit state”.
She added that because of the aggravated element of the charges Mr Browne would need to appear in Perth.
He did not enter a plea and is due to re-appear at Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on July 8.
