Baldivis artist Tash MacFairlane kicks goal with first novel illustration

TASH MacFairlane (23) is well on her way of achieving her goal of drawing for a living.

The Baldivis artist was excited and nervous when asked to illustrate a novel.

It took her more than a month to illustrate middle grade novel Maximus, which will be released by Rockingham-based publishers Serenity Press.

Maximus is written by Steve Heron OAM, the founder of Nature Works Foundation who developed BUZ – Build Up Zone programs used in schools throughout WA.

Miss MacFairlane said her passion for art began at a young age.

“I like to draw, mainly detailed stuff like fineline,” she said.

Miss MacFairlane studied graphic design at Tafe.
