Baldivis: elderly man with cerebral palsy punched during attempted robbery

ROCKINGHAM Detectives are investigating an attempted robbery in Baldivis, on Sunday, February 4 between 8am and 4pm, on a footpath near a shopping centre located at Settlers Avenue.

A 66-year-old man who suffers from cerebral palsy was walking on the footpath when he was confronted by a male offender.

The offender attempted to take the man’s wallet.

During the incident, he punched the victim which resulted in cuts and bruising to his face.

An unknown member of the public approached and intervened, and the offender fled the scene.

The victim’s carer was informed of the incident and police were contacted.

The offender is described as dark skinned, medium height, with long dark curly hair, a long grey beard and of heavy build.

Rockingham Detectives would like the member of the public who helped the victim to come forward.
