THE father of an 11-year-old Baldivis boy has opened up about a vicious attack on his son at a local park on Monday.

Lyncon Owen (11) was taken to hospital by ambulance after kids at the BMX bike park near Stillwater Drive beat him up, according to his father Gavin.

Mr Owen said Lyncon was at the park at 4.30pm on Monday, when some bigger kids tried to take a scooter from Lyncon’s friend.

Mr Owen said when Lyncon asked them to give the scooter back, he was set upon by about 10 kids.

The police report said Lyncon was hit in the nose and mouth and punched a few times in the head.

Mr Owen said Lyncon passed out.

He said Lyncon’s friend called them and when he and wife Julie got there, there was blood everywhere.

“It was horrific,” Mr Owen said.

Lyncon needed stitches to his lip and gum. They will not know if his nose was broken until the swelling goes down.

Mr Owen said their once active son was now subdued.

Police are investigating.
