A BALDIVIS man (32) has been arrested after an investigation into alleged false claims of employment.

Canning Vale Local Policing Team officers claim the man advertised on Gumtree for people wishing to be employed as cleaners.

When applicants applied for a position, the man would ask for an upfront cash amount between $600 and $1200, stating the money was required for medical and training costs.

It will be further alleged once the money was paid, the man provided fake training days and medical appointments from a false human resource email account.
