Baldivis resident finalist in West’s Best Burger competition

Baldivis resident David Feighan has been cooking his family’s favourite lamb dish for years.

Finding out about a competition to make the West’s Best Burger he knew what he had to do.

Mr Feighan entered the competition, an initiative of the Agriculture Department and Food’s Buy West Eat Best program on WA Day.

He set about tweaking his favourite to create the Lambungas.

“I’m pretty happy to have my burger be drawn as a finalist,” he said. “It was pretty lamb good.”

The finals cook-off was held at Elizabeth Quay on WA Day.

Mr Feighan was thrilled at the support he garnered from the crowd. His daughters Milla and Brydee brought along signs and formed up a cheer squad.

“Yeah it was great, go dad go dad was all I could hear from the crowd,” he said.

“They were there with my wife Hayley and baby Jessie who was in the pram.”

The ultimate winner was Gus Gallaher from Belmont
