The brother and sister from Baldivis were chosen as ambassadors by Legacy Australia to participate in the tour to commemorate the Battle of Pozières.

“We have both been designated an Australian soldier who served in this war and died during battle,” they said.

“We have had to research and learn as much about them and their families and the contribution to our freedom and document this in an 800-word essay to be presented in Sydney.

“Legacy has paid for us already but we really want to give back to them, support them as they are a small organisation.

“So far we have had generous donations from Paul Papalia, the Totally and Partially Disable Veterans of WA and Fiona and Chris Reinke.”

For those interested in donating, Kirstie and Jared have set up a GoFundMe page or people can donate directly to Legacy WA with all donations being tax deductable.

“It’s been an honour to have been selected,” they said.
