Ms Sharp said her focus was on promoting the industry in a positive way. She tried to be supportive of students and staff.

“I enjoy being able to share my passion,” she said. “I encourage students to be the best they can be.”

Ms Sharp works as an occupational therapist in the aged care industry.

Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery said the training system provided Western Australians with a chance to change their future.

“It allows employers to upskill existing employees to address skills gaps as the state’s economy grows and diversifies,” she said.
