Baldivis: wild weather blows roof off Lakeside Deli, power remains out in surrounding areas

THE roof of Lakeside Deli in Baldivis blew off during strong winds overnight.

Police received a call at 6.20pm that the roof had blown off a building on Mandurah Road, near Pike Road.

The roof took down power lines, causing surrounding suburbs to lose power.

Power is not expected to be restored in the immediate vicinity of the incident until 3pm today. .

A large amount of debris was strewn across the road.

The road remains closed, between Pike Road and Outridge Road, for clean up.

State Emergency Services did not attend because there was a risk of asbestos exposure; the clean up was handed over to the City of Rockingham.
