THE clock is ticking for local community groups to register in the Christmas Parade that will form part of the 2019 City of Rockingham Christmas Festival on Saturday, December 7.
Returning for the second time, the Christmas Parade will start at 5.30pm, departing from the Village Green and joining the celebrations on the foreshore at 6.30pm.
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels said the Christmas Parade presented an opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate the festive season.
“The Christmas Parade is one of the biggest and brightest events of the summer and will consist of both walking groups and floats/wheeled transport,” he said.
“All community groups are encouraged to apply and can include musical or dance groups, roaming entertainment and costumes, emergency services vehicles and school and not-for-profit groups.”
“The parade will depart the Village Green with participants travelling a set route concluding on Rockingham Beach Road at the Rockingham Foreshore.
“Participants in last year’s event were all thrilled to be involved in this community event with many returning again this year, so I encourage interested community groups to register for the 2019 Christmas Parade as soon as possible, you don’t want to miss out.”
