The City approved an application for a tavern on the corner of Safety Bay Road and Settlers Avenue, near Stockland Baldivis shopping centre, at last Tuesdays council meeting.

It will operate as part of the Brotzeit Bavarian Bar and Restaurant and be permitted to open until midnight Monday to Friday and until 10pm on Sunday nights.

Live music is proposed one to two times per week.

It will be the third pub in the booming residential area, alongside The Chase and Vernon Arms.

However, just one petrol station currently caters for more than 10,000 residents with plans for two more on the Kwinana Freeway near Mundijong Road still in planning.

During community consultation on the proposal, the City received a number of submissions from residents concerned about potential noise levels and rowdy behaviour. But the report to the council said the site was far enough away from residential areas that it would not cause adverse impact.

It also said a noise management plan will be created and the owner will use private security to control patrons.
