Bertram: prison officer faces drug charges

WA Police Organised Crime Squad’s Prison Team detectives have charged a Bertram man (57) in relation to a quantity of dexamphetamine tablets on Friday, November 11.

Detectives found an amount of dexamphetamine tablets in a vehicle they stopped in Success about 11am.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested and a search warrant was executed at his Bertram residence.

During the vehicle stop and subsequent search, a number of items of interest were seized, including 175 dexamphetamine tablets.

The Bertram man was charged with possessing a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply, and three counts of offering to sell or supply a prohibited drug to another.

The accused is a prison officer and is due in Rockingham Magistrates Court today .
