About 200 people gathered for the service at 11am on November 11, with the public joining current and former military personnel including a large contingent from HMAS Stirling.

Rockingham RSL sub-branch vice-president Lyndon Jackson led the service before dozens of wreaths were laid at the base of the monument and a gun salute.

HMAS Stirling Commander Matt Blenkin said it was a chance to remember those lost and pay tribute to Australians still serving overseas.
