Bright Sparx Club starts in Kwinana for talented Year 8 students

A BRIGHT Sparx Club has started in Kwinana.

The club involves 35 Year 8 students from high schools in the Kwinana Industries Council Education Partnership.

The program runs one night each week and provides students with an opportunity to improve their confidence and aspirations. Students learn about Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) careers.

The Bright Sparx Club is a partnership initiative between KIC, CSBP, Kleenheat and Murdoch University.

Murdoch University student ambassadors will co-ordinate the program activities, CSBP and Kleenheat employees will act as mentors and guides throughout the program and attend sessions relevant to their expertise.

Over 10 weeks, students will participate in a range of activities including excursions to CSBP Kwinana and Murdoch University.

Schools participating are Tranby College, Living Waters Lutheran College, Hamilton Senior High School, Rockingham Senior High School, Rockingham Montessori School and Kolbe Catholic College.
