Child indecent assault accused bailed after failing to appear in court

Gabrielle JefferyWeekend Kwinana Courier

Stephen Anthony Allum failed to appear at Rockingham Magistrates Court on September 5 following his arrest by Child Abuse Squad detectives on August 30.

Appearing in custody before Magistrate Leanne Atkins on September 23, the Warnbro man was charged with two counts of indecent dealings with a child under 13 and a breach of his bail.

His lawyer said Mr Allum had failed to appear as he worked away on the Wheatstone Project near Onslow. He was granted $5000 bail with similar surety and was not required to enter a plea.
