The awards focus on community contribution and participation rather than personal achievement, and are handed out in a number of categories, including for those over 25 years of age and for those under 25.
Grahame Niven, of Baldivis, received the award for a person of 25 years or older, while 15-year-old Liam Howard received the under-25 award.
Mr Niven has been a charter member of Baldivis Lions Club since 1984, has lived in the suburb for more than 35 years and has been active in a range of activities and initiatives over that time.
Liam received his award for being an advocate for youth and his role as an active member of the Rockingham Youth Advisory Council.
The award for a community group or community event went to the Rockingham Read Write Now Adult Literacy Program, which is a community-based volunteer organisation that provides a free adult literacy service.
