City of Kwinana has big problem with illegal parking

Corporate and engineering services director Errol Lawrence said City Assist officers patrolled the area and took action against illegal parking after a warning was issued “in the first instance”.

“Any repeat offenders are issued with infringements,” Mr Lawrence said.

Mr Lawrence said the City had looked at implementing parking restrictions in the area and would be carrying out traffic studies.

He said it was also investigating the future of a development that was “likely to happen on both sides of the road adjacent to the railway station” and what impact that could have on future parking demand.

Mr Lawrence said clamping down on footpath parking was a resource issue with City Assist officers also patrolling multiple areas, including schools and the Kwinana and Wellard city areas.
