EDUCATION Scholarships are available from the City of Kwinana.
The City is awarding 16 scholarships to young people between the amounts of $300 to $800 to assist with the purchase of educational related materials.
The City’s LyriK (Leadership Youth, Respect in Kwinana) Scholarship Program aims to recognise the educational achievements of local students and encourage the attainment of entry level qualifications and further education.
This is an opportunity for students to gain some financial support as they transition through their schooling.
Mayor Carol Adams said council valued the importance of education, and aim to provide the youth of Kwinana with the best opportunities available.
“The City will continue to help raise the educational standard by helping young people increase their opportunities in the competitive employment market,” she said.
Scholarships are awarded to students entering years 7 ($300), 11 ($375) and 12 ($400) and to those students finishing Year 12 and continuing to higher education ($800).
Applications open Monday, October 23 and close Sunday, November 19.
