City of Rockingham receives Australian Coastal Councils Association award

THE City of Rockingham received a highly commended award for its community engagement.

The Australian Coastal Councils Association presented the awards in Kiama, NSW, recognising the City of Rockingham for its innovative approach to coastal hazard risk management and adaptation planning.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels, who also chairs the association, said it was an honour for the city to be recognised at the awards.

The association enables coastal local governments to work together to tackle key issues and provides support for coastal advocacy campaigns.
