Out of control Waikiki party sees police vehicles damaged after objects thrown

ABOUT 11.25pm last night police were called to a home in Murchison Road in Waikiki after several reports of men fighting at a party.

Police arrived to find 50 to 60 people on the street, and several fights going on within the group.

It will be alleged as police went to assist one group of people, bottles, bricks and wooden stakes were thrown at them.

Several police vehicles received minor damage in the incident.

An Out of Control Gathering was declared and Regional Operations Group officers attended to assist in dispersing the crowd.

Numerous items were then thrown including bricks.

A 22-year-old Baldivis man was charged with criminal damage and a 16-year-old Caversham boy will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date for trespass.
