Perth dancers launch careers

Port Kennedy’s Kelly Devlin (14) was accepted into the school’s invitee program.

She will travel to Melbourne throughout the year to train alongside the Australian Ballet School’s full-time students.

Willetton’s Aimee Yong (10) was accepted into the interstate training program.

The 10-year-old will be based in Perth but make regular trips to Melbourne to train alongside other young dancers from around Australia.

Both girls have been honing their skills at the Katharine Mantle Performing Arts Academy.

Principal Katharine Mantle said both girls were hardworking student passionate about their craft.

“It is one of the most rewarding parts of my job to see students’ dreams and goals become a reality, especially when you train them from a young age,” Mantle said.
