Dancing the right medicine at Sami Medical Practice

DANCING is not usually associated with a doctors’ surgery.

But every Friday, staff at Samy Medical Practice in Rockingham get down and boogie.

Professor of corporate social responsibility Martin Sami said sharing the dancing on social media helped people feel comfortable coming into the practice.

“It helps our patients open up to their doctor,” he said.

“We find Facebook helps break the ice.”

As well as the Friday dancing “antics”, staff also hold a seniors morning tea on the last Tuesday of the month.

“Many seniors suffer from depression, so it’s good for them to get out in the community,” Prof Sami said.

“We also hold lunch at Christmas and Easter.”
