Day to have a go at Golden Beach

Vanessa SchmittWeekend Kwinana Courier

That is the aim of Have-a-Go-Day at Golden Bay Estate on Saturday, November 28.

The aim of the event is to encourage visitors and locals to experience life in and around the water.

Participants will be able to practice surf lifesaving skills, learn some handy beach safety tips and enjoy a free sausage sizzle after a morning body surfing Golden Bay’s picturesque beach break.

There will be an opportunity to meet representatives from the Secret Harbour Surf Life Saving Club and to hone skills riding nipper boards, body boards and diving for flags.

Cadets, who range in age from 13 to 16, will be hosting safety presentations and giving members of the public an insight into what they do at the club each week.
