THE St Vincent de Paul Society’s annual Street Appeal is on today, September 11, and many volunteers will be out and about in the local area “shaking a tin” for Vinnies.
All funds raised during the annual appeal will enable the society to continue helping people in need.
St Vincent de Paul chief executive Mark Fitzpatrick said money raised would go towards providing emergency relief and support to families and individuals.
“The society responds to welfare needs in the community by way of food, clothing, furniture and financial assistance,” Mr Fitzpatrick said.
“The annual street appeal is an important funding source for the society’s emergency relief program and any donation makes a real difference to the lives of people doing it tough.”
Volunteers will be at locations such as Rockingham City Shopping Centre and Bunnings in Rockingham and Port Kennedy.
