Police said a man was driving a black Hyundai Getz northbound on Patterson Road about 7.30pm when his vehicle left the road and struck a tree in the centre island.
The driver, a 41-year-old man from Palmyra, received fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Major Crash investigators would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the vehicle before the crash or the crash itself.
