The annual event is organised by the Student Services team to encourage all students to take a stand against bullying and violence in school and the wider community.

A highlight of the week was the launch of the Buddy Zone.

This shaded and grassed area was created to provide a designated space for Student Services and student leaders to work collaboratively with the school community.

One initiative that has arisen from the Buddy Zone is to raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation.

The student leaders and the Student Services team will undertake a number of fundraising activities this year, one of which is a school-wide dress-up day.

On Friday, May 20, students will attend school as their favourite superhero or villain for a gold-coin donation.

Principal Stan Koios is excited about the initiative.

“Students and staff at this school have always had a strong sense of civil duty – caring for yourself, your mates and for the broader community,” he said.

“I can’t wait to see which superheroes show up at Rockingham SHS.”
