Golden Bay PS continues to grow in student numbers

Vanessa SchmittWeekend Kwinana Courier

GOLDEN Bay Primary School has experienced significant growth since it opened three years ago.

The school opened its doors to 168 students in 2015 and last week welcomed 420 students through the gates.

To accommodate the exponential growth, a new sports faction Jarrah (red) was created.

Golden Bay Estate contributed towards new shade tents at the school to help cater for increased student numbers.

The Golden Bay Playgroup used the school as its base, but this year Golden Bay Estate helped relocate the playgroup to the Coastal Community Centre in Tangadee Road.

Playgroup co-ordinator Felicity Stride said the centre was ideal for the playgroup as it has a dedicated play room, toilets and kitchen facilities and an enclosed outdoor playground.

“Without the support of Golden Bay Estate and Golden Bay Primary School, the playgroup would not be able to continue,” she said.

Golden Bay Playgroup is held on Thursdays from 9.30am to 11.30am. All families are welcome.
