Since opening in March 2014, headspace Rockingham has supported more than 750 young people aged 12 to 25 in the Rockingham area and surrounds.

Centre manager Raff Di Bartolomeo said the high demand at the centre was a reflection of the growing need for such services in the area.

"It’s important for young people to have a place they can go to talk to someone, get help or advice and the support they need. Supported by community organisations, we are making that happen and making a difference to the lives of so many young people," he said.

One of the centre's main accomplishments over its year of existence was how well its services had been received and how quickly young people felt comfortable after seeking help.

Headspace chief executive Chris Tanti said it was important they acknowledged the milestones of its centres and the positive impact they had within a community.

"Centres work tirelessly in their local communities to help young people and their families get the support they need," Mr Tanti said.

"That's why it's so rewarding to see the significant contributions being made by headspace in places like Rockingham."

Headspace Rockingham is located at 3/18 Goddard Street and offers confidential and youth friendly services for people aged between 12-25 years on a whole range of issues.
