Those are the words of her friend Sheree Holmes to explain why she and a group of Ms Guariglia’s other friends and neighbours pitched in to renovate her kitchen and give her garden a makeover while she was on holiday in Vietnam.
When Ms Guariglia returned to her Golden Bay home from 11 days away in the bustling East Asian nation, she had to sit in her car for nearly 10 minutes to let the sight sink in and overcome her feeling of overwhelming amazement.
‘I had asked a friend (Ms Holmes) to water my garden and keep a watch on the place while my daughter and I were away,’ Ms Guariglia told the Courier.
‘She asked for the keys too, in case of emergency, and I didn’t think anything of it.
‘When we got home, it was just ‘Oh my god, this is amazing’, but I had to stay in the car to take it in because I was bawling my eyes out and couldn’t comprehend their generosity.’
Freshly painted doors and new tiles were added to the kitchen, while reticulation, lawn and new plants were placed in the front yard, as well as a new coat of paint and bar table to the veranda area.
