Have your say on Waikiki Beach coastal values study

THE Peron Naturaliste Partnership, with support from City of Rockingham, is undertaking a coastal values project at Waikiki Beach.

The project team has working together from mid-2017 to gain a better understanding of what communities currently value at the beach and how those values may be impacted by coastal erosion and climate change.

Coastal adaption co-ordinator Joanne Ludbrook said it was important to hear from the community to better plan and manage coastal areas in order to maintain those features and uses of the coast.

The community and Waikiki Beach Users are being asked to complete a survey online by visiting www.surveymonkey.com/r/coastalvaluesrockingham.

Community members undertaking the survey are then asked attend a workshop at the Safety Bay Library on April 6.

The project received funding from the Western Australian Planning Commission’s Coastal Management Plan Assistance Program.
