Home Away from Home: Warnbro grandmother has first book published

Vanessa SchmittWeekend Kwinana Courier

Her novel, Home Away from Home, is about a theatrical guesthouse in Edinburgh in the 1970s and the people who live there.

She said the characters in the crime/romance/comedy were quirky.

Mrs Day said the novel even contained sex. Friends had told her the novel should contain sex scenes so she thought of a very sexy lady she knew when writing the character.

Although Mrs Day used to live in a guesthouse, the novel is fictional. It took her a few months to write and four years to get published.

Home Away from Home is the first of a trilogy.

Mrs Day was a legal secretary for all of her working life. She has two children and six grandchildren. Home Away from Home is available from Amazon or the publishers melrosebooks.com.uk.
