Rockingham General Hospital Parking Still Free but Fines Now Apply

Jaime ShurmerWeekend Kwinana Courier

The introduction of parking infringements is a result of a parking review to cope with growth at the hospital.

Hospital executive director Geraldine Carlton said the hospital had trebled in size since its redevelopment.

“We are committed to making sure that safe, accessible parking is available 24-hours a day for all who visit or work at the campus. We have added to our staff parking areas and increased the number of ACROD/disability access bays at the hospital,” she said.

Parking infringements will be applied under the Metropolitan Health Service By-laws, and warning notices will be issued before fines are applied.

RGH security staff have been trained and authorised to issue infringements and will conduct regular patrols.

Visitor car parks are clearly sign-posted and run along the entire length of the hospital campus on Elanora Drive as well as opposite the Emergency Department.
