Houses searched in Parmelia and Casuarina after the alleged deprivation of liberty and assault of 21-year-old woman

AN EXPLOSIVE was found during a search of a Casuarina home by Armadale Detectives this week in relation to the deprivation of liberty and assault of a 21-year-old woman.

Detectives obtained two search warrants and were assisted by the Tactical Response Group and Bomb Response Unit during the search on May 1.

It will be alleged that an improvised explosive device was located next to the entrance door of the premises.

This was made safe before officers entered the house.

Three people were taken into custody at the address, with two charged.

Police claim that a number of firearms, ammunition, drugs and drug paraphernalia was located and seized from the house.

Further inquiries led police to an address in Parmelia and a search warrant was executed at the address on May 3.

Police said they seized drugs, cash, knuckle dusters and drug paraphernalia.

Two people were arrested at the house.

A 36-year-old Casuarina man was charged with deprivation of liberty, assault occasioning bodily harm and will appear before the Rockingham Magistrates Court on May 4. Further charges are pending.

A 27-year-old man of Parmelia has been charged with possessing a prohibited drug with intent to

sell or supply (methylamphetamine), possessing a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply

(cannabis) and will appear before the Rockingham Magistrates Court on May 4. Further charges are pending.

A 28-year-old Casuarina man has been charged with aggravated possession of an unlicensed

firearm and will appear in Rockingham Magistrates Court on May 8. Further charges are pending.

A 37-year-old woman of Halls Head has been charged with breaching bail and possessing a prohibited drug and will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on May 8.
