Two and four-legged walkers can take a 5km walk in Rockingham from the corner of Wanliss Street and Rockingham Beach Road on Sunday May 17, ending at the Naval Memorial Reserve further along the Rockingham Foreshore.

RSPCA WA chief executive David van Ooran said Million Paws Walk was the organisations biggest fundraising event of the year, helping to raise much-needed funds to continue fighting animal cruelty.

It is a fun event with a serious message, he said.

We are asking people to spend a Sunday morning with your dog and family and at the same time, raise money for animals that are not so lucky.

By walking, you are helping keep inspectors on the road rescuing animals and educating people about responsible pet ownership.

So far this year, RSPCA WA has received more than 13,000 calls and by the end of March, had investigated more than 4000 animal cruelty complaints involving 5722 animals. To register or find out more, visit www.millionpawswalk.com.au.
