The once bustling jetty looks set to meet its end despite a petition that contained more than 1300 signatures tabled by Kwinana residents in March last year.

It is believed that the City received no insurance payout for the damage sustained.
Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams said demolition of the jetty would take place this financial year.

READ NOW“Comprehensive investigations into the state of the jetty have been undertaken and have concluded that it is beyond repair,” she said.
“To ensure community safety, our only viable option is complete removal.
“While this is a difficult truth that saddens us all, I can assure residents that council has assessed every available avenue and has not reached the decision to demolish the jetty lightly.”
