The Employment Department’s Small Area Labour Markets report was released last week and showed Perth had the biggest rise in unemployment of any major Australian capital city in past year.
WA’s jobless rate soared to its highest level in 13 years as unemployment across the rest of the country dropped.
The unemployment rate in the City of Rockingham for the June quarter this year was 6.64 per cent. However, the small area labour market shows significant comparisons across the suburbs.
