MORE than 500 contractors enjoyed a barbecue on Friday, to celebrate the construction of the world’s largest Lithium Hydroxide plant in Kwinana.

Tianqi Lithium engaged Rotary Kwinana to provide a sausage sizzle to say thank you to the contractors.

Volunteers Lorraine Lucas, Deryl Wallhead, John Wallhead and Chris Iriks.

Tianqi’s general manager Phil Thick and Kwinana MLA Roger Cook gave speeches about the venture.

The plant is dedicated to produce high-quality battery materials for the EV and ESS markets and will produce 48,000 tonnes of lithium per annum.
