Lakelands Shopping Centre evacuated after fire alarm accidentally set off

LAKELANDS Shopping Centre was evacuated today after the fire alarm was activated.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said a call was received about a fire alarm going off at 11.37am.

Fire crews attended and the shopping centre was evacuated.

“It appears the alarm was accidentally set off by a workman,” she said.

“The case was left with management.”
