Leda: man and woman charged over burglary of 86-year-old man’s home

POLICE have charged a man and woman over a burglary at the Leda home of an 86-year-old man who suffered a broken foot when they allegedly broke in on Sunday.

Bill Anglesey was home alone when the two people allegedly committed the crime about 6.50pm on March 18.

He alleged the man “kicked in the door” of his kitchen and the door struck his foot.

“There was mountains of blood everywhere,” he said.

The woman was allegedly waiting outside.

Police overnight charged a 24-year-old Orelia man and 34-year-old Secret Harbour woman with aggravated burglary and theft.

They are due to appear in Rockingham Magistrates Court today.
