Life-long endeavour to help out

Despite working as a school officer at Endeavour Schools in Port Kennedy and helping with her husbands business, she has always found time to help others.

When her children were babies, she would push her pram around the streets of Rockingham to raise funds for the Red Shield Appeal. Now she supports her 93-year-old father, who is living alone.

For Mothers Day she walked to fundraise in a breast cancer appeal.

Mrs Lands next venture is walking 60km as part of the Weekend to End Womens Cancer next April.

It is a cause close to her heart, with a grandmother, uncle and aunty recently passing away from cancer.

Funds raised from the walk go to the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. The institute aims to look for genetic clues to help prevent and treat cancers, such as breast and ovarian cancer.
