Main Roads urges drivers to stay alert as Perth enveloped by fog

PERTH has had a (very) early taste of winter after the city awoke to find itself shrouded in fog this morning.

Despite the forecast of a sunny weekend, the fog rolled in this morning and is causing some issues on the road, particularly to Perth’s south.

The reduced visibility has forced Main Roads to issue a warning for commuters on the Kwinana Freeway from Thomas Rd in Anketell to Pinjarra Rd.

They have also issued the fog warning between Lakes Road in Mandurah and Mortimer Road in Wellard.

Main Roads have asked for drivers to exercise extreme caution, turn headlights on, ensure there is a safe braking distance available and allow for extra travel time.
