Man charged with child sex offences after babysitting children in Warnbro

A 73-year-old man has been charged with historic child sexual abuse incidents that allegedly occurred while his was babysitting children in the Warnbro area.

Cold Case Serious Crime Squad detectives charged the man as a result of their investigation into alleged historic child sexual abuse incidents from 2002 and 2005.

Police claim the man sexually assaulted five girls who were aged between 6 and 11 years-old at the time of the first incident.

The man from Bunbury has been charged with 14 counts of sexual penetration of a child under 13 years, 13 counts of indecent dealings of a child under three years, three counts of persistent sexual conduct of a child under 16 years and one count of procured or encouraged a child to engage in sexual behaviour.

He is due to appear before the Rockingham Magistrates Court on May 6.
