A MAN who smashed a couple of cars with a skateboard claimed that one of the cars was trying to run him over.

The prosecutor said Raven was at the Kwinana bus station on October 31 at about 9am when he began shouting abuse at passengers at the station.

She said he continued swearing, being abusive and yelling when he walked over to a Toyota parked at the Kwinana Hub Shopping Centre.

Still yelling, he began to randomly smash a parked car causing large dents to its bonnet, side panels and roof.

A woman who saw the attack on the car said something to Raven, who then walked over and began smashing her car, a Kia, with a skateboard on several panels of her car.

He also hit several signs around the station.

Police were called and he was taken to Rockingham hospital where staff found him to be under the influence of numerous drugs.

They sought restitution of $4400 for the parked Toyota and $500 for the Kia.

Magistrate Vivian Edwards asked if he agreed with the facts.

Raven said he did.

“The doctor believes I was spiked and I had a psychotic breakdown,” he said.

“I wasn’t taking my medication but I am back on it now.”

“She was trying to run over me with her car. I just slapped her car with the skateboard. I didn’t think it had done that much damage.”

Magistrate Edwards said he had previous record for drugs and criminal damages charges.

She fined him $800.
