A new component added this year will focus on the Bunbury area, coaching a select group of teachers to develop their classroom instruction methods.

The existing Alcoa Real World Maths component will offer positive maths learning and engagement experience for teachers, parents and students as they work together on fun, hands-on activities.

These include murder mystery events where maths and analytical thinking is used to solve crime.

Alcoa Real World Maths will be offered in the Rockingham area this term, with Rockingham Beach Primary School, East Waikiki Primary School and Hillman Primary School confirmed.

In term 3, Real World Maths will move to primary schools in the Kwinana area.

The Alcoa Maths Enrichment Program will move to schools in the Mandurah, Harvey and Pinjarra areas over the course of the three-year, $450,000 partnership.
