Medina police chase: gun, drugs uncovered after man loses control of motorbike

A 33-year-old man from Medina is expected to be charged with a number of offences after attempting to evade police on his motorcycle on Sunday night.

About 6:30pm police tried to stop a black Kawasaki bike travelling at high speed on Calista Avenue in Calista.

The rider allegedly failed to stop and sped away, turning onto Summerton Road.

The motorcycle approached the intersection of Stanyford Way and crossed to the wrong side of the roundabout before the rider lost control and dropped the bike.

The man was arrested and taken to Rockingham Hospital for treatment to grazing on an arm and a leg caused by sliding on the road.

It will be alleged that when the man was searched by officers they located jewellery, cannabis and a firearm.
