DOG owners in Baldivis and Secret Harbour could soon have extra room to roam with their pooches.
The City of Rockingham has identified nine reserves in Baldivis and four in Secret Harbour as dog exercise areas.
Lot 8004 Chilvers Street, Lot 1233 to 1472 Colreavy Ramble, Zedora Reserve, Steel Tree Reserve, Wise Meander Reserve, Highbury Reserve, Palomino Reserve, Lot 699 Stillwater Drive and Lot 300 to 627 Atherstone Parade in Baldivis could become designated dog exercise areas if adopted by Council next week.
Public comment will be sought for Bonaparte Reserve, Coffs Bend Reserve, Yampi Vale Reserve and Tuart Park in Secret Harbour to become designated dog exercise areas.
City officers identified the sites as part of their investigations into suitable dog exercise areas, following motions by councillors Matthew Whitfield and Chris Elliott for Baldivis and Secret Harbour respectively.
The City only received one submission during the public comment period for Baldivis. Both proposals were unanimously approved at Tuesday’s planning and engineering services committee meeting.
