Muchea fatal crash: Singleton man charged with dangerous driving occasioning death

A SINGLETON man has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death after a fatal crash in May.

It happened on Brand Highway in Muchea on Thursday May 5 and involved two cars with one of the drivers passing away at the scene of the crash.

Police allege that at around 5am, a Toyota Landcruiser was travelling north on Brand Highway and a Mitsubishi sedan was travelling south when the vehicles collided.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 38-year-old man from Lennard Brook, received life-threatening injuries and passed away at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota, a 30-year-old man from Singleton, received minor injuries and was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital.

Major Crash officers have charged the 30-year-old man as a result of their investigation into the crash.

He is due to appear in the Moora Magistrates Court on August 3, 2016.
