Native plant giveaway in Rockingham

FREE native plants will be available from Carramar Coastal Nursery from May 4 to 12.

The giveaway is part of the City of Rockingham’s commitment to building water-sensitive communities and to support the establishment of backyard habitat for wildlife.

Residents will be able to collect up to 10 free seedlings per household from the nursery, which is in Port Kennedy.

Mayor Barry Sammels said the native plants giveaway would be bigger than ever.

“Given the success of the program in 2018, the number of plants available in this year’s giveaway has almost tripled,” he said.

“During the giveaway plants will be handed out on a first-come, first- served basis, so I urge people to get in quick to avoid disappointment.”

Carramar Coastal Nursery is at 1834 Mandurah Road in Port Kennedy.
