A NATURE Passport was launched in Kwinana on Saturday.

Kwinana MLA Roger Cook and hundreds of children celebrated the launch at the Children’s Week Family Picnic Day at Kwinana Adventure Playground.

The Nature Play Day offered families a chance to get children outside and mucking around.

Activities were designed to be self-guided and encouraged children to lead the way and include elements of creativity, problem solving, adventure and fun.

By downloading the Nature Play WA App free via iTunes or Google Play, families were able to see the activities on offer and where they were found. The app also allows families to be a part of the real-life treasure hunt, with clues to find hidden markers which lead to the next piece of the puzzle all within the Nature Play WA app.

An area was also set aside for loose parts play, gumnut birds, outdoor games, nature craft and mud pie kitchens.
